GEORGETOWN – Dawn Kasper Layssard, 53, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on June 1, 2021. She was born in Austin, Texas, daughter of Alice and Emil John Kasper of Hutto, Texas on September 12, 1967.
Dawn is a graduate of Hutto High School, Class of 1986, Salutatorian. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. Since graduation she accelerated in her career and achieved the position of Transportation Manager for the United States Postal Service in Austin, Texas with twenty-three years of service.
In April 2003 Dawn married the love of her life, Thomas Layssard. They have enjoyed a life filled with a growing family and love surrounding them.
Dawn is preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman Albert Roehr and Hattie Becker, Bessie Kubicek and John Kasper.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Thomas Layssard of Georgetown, her parents Alice and Emil Kasper, brother and sister in-law, Shannon and Janine Kasper, her brother, Greg Kasper. Her brother in-laws, William and Larry Layssard. Stepdaughter Deonna Morgan and her husband Lee, Stepson Dorian Layssard and his wife Crystal, nine step-grandchildren and ten step-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and loved ones make a donation in Dawn's memory to the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas.
