David E Livingston was received into the loving arms of our Lord at the age of 72 Friday January 1, 2021. David was born in Fort Worth Texas and was adopted by Doris and Leo Livingston of Taylor.
David lived all of his life in Taylor where he attended school. While in school he helped with the football team and graduated in 1966. He attended Southwestern University in Georgetown.
Early in his career he worked for the IRS center in Austin and the Veterans Hospital in Waco. Later in life he worked as a care giver for individuals in Taylor.
David had many talents. He could play the piano and organ. When he played, it brought such joy to many people and to him. He could play many songs by memory. He was also a master of crocheting and enjoyed making blankets for family and friends. David had a remarkable ability to recall many historical facts about Taylor. He also enjoyed showing his owl collection.
David was a long-time member of St Mary’s Catholic Church. He spent his last years under the care of SPJST Assisted Living Facility in Taylor, Texas. He was well loved and taken care of by the staff. Janie Whittley provided him with encouragement and care. She would also make sure he had his favorite meal – Whataburger.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Doris Livingston.
Arrangements will be provided by Providence Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10am Thursday January 7, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SPJST or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church .Both are in Taylor Texas.
