Daphne Faye Leatherman

June 17, 1932 — March 12, 2019

Daphne Faye Leatherman, 86, passed away on March 12, 2019 in Taylor, Texas. She was born in Sunshine, Texas on June 17, 1932 to Addie (Horton) and Alva Stroud. She is a 1949 graduate of Bartlett High School.

She married Robert Clem Leatherman on May 31, 1952. Daphne was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver to children and the elderly. She loved gardening, caring for family, cooking and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Clem Leatherman; daughter Pamela Sanford; son Duane Leatherman (Kathleen); daughter Rita Cocke (Bob); Grandchildren Robert Sanford, Travis Sanford (Samantha), Becca Cocke, and Daniel Leatherman; sister Nell McKenzie; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Addie and Alva Stroud; brothers Lee Hubert, Jess and Ernest Stroud; sisters Doris Hill, Dialtha Coach, Fredy Green, Helen Worley, and Jean Rollins; and her son-in-law Johnny Sanford.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2pm at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Taylor City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Robinson Creek Home Health and Hospice or local hospice of your choice.
