Curtis Wahrmund, 76, passed into eternal peace on May 14, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Curtis was born April 2, 1943 in Fredricksburg, Texas to Elgin and Cora Wahrmund. He married the love of his life, Linda Anderson, on June 15, 1963 in Austin, Texas. They were blessed with two children, Ken and Kimberly.
Curtis joined the Austin Fire Department in 1966 and proudly served for 29 years before retiring as a captain in 1995. Curtis loved to fish, tinker with classic cars, travel and camp. Most of all he enjoyed soaking up time and making memories with his family.
Curtis is preceded in death by both of his parents, mother and father in law, FA and Jimmye Anderson, his two brothers Roland and Wallace Wahrmund, and two sisters Elaine Wahrmund and Connie Little.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Wahrmund, son, Ken (Lori) Wahrmund, and daughter Kimberly (Richard) Dugger all of Hutto. Grandchildren, Raelyn (Cale) Hall, Shelby Wahrmund, Devin (Amanda) Wahrmund, Duston Wahrmund and Paige Dugger and his only great grandchild, Caylen Hall, all of Hutto.
The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses with Altus Hospice for their care and compassion through such a difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4:30-7:00 pm at the Taylor Volunteer Fire Hall.
If you would like to do something in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hutto Lutheran Church in Curtis’ memory.
