Curtis Harold Ging

Curtis Harold Ging was born July 28, 1939 in Taylor, Texas. He was called by the Lord on February 25, 2018 at the age of 78 from his home in Granger, Texas while surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 58 years, Tracie Polasek Ging.  His loving children, Alfred Richard (Ricky) Ging II and Barbara Ledger, Arleen and Clyde Ford, Kathleen Repa and Bobby Sosa and Natalie And Mark Langley.

Grandchildren: Renee and Kody Kuhl, Daphney and Chuck Tankersley, Tina and Taylor Rowe, Alfred Richard (Trey) Ging III, Stephen Brosch, Dakota Repa, Cameron Langley and Hannah Langley.

Greatgrandchildren: Graham Tankersley, Hartlyn Ging, Birdie Tankersley, Sara Kuhl, Kamden and Rawlin Rowe, Kenzie Kuhl and Baby Tankersley on the way.

He is also survived by his Sister Shirley Townsend and sister-in-law Dorothy Ging of Taylor.

He also leaves behind loving sisters in laws and brother in laws, an numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Alfred Richard I and Ella Goetz Ging.  His brother Glen Roy Ging, brother in law Bill Townsend and granddaughter Alexandra Ging.

Curtis entered the U.S. Navy before the age of 18. He served his country for six years.

He worked at Elgin Brick Company, Texas Highway Department, Alcoa, City of Granger  and City of Taylor Water and Wastewater Deptartments.  He retired from the City of Taylor in 2002.

Since 1963 he has been a farmer.  He never loss the love of farming, driving a tractor and harvesting crops.

During his lifetime he enjoyed restoring tractors and spending time with his family and friends.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Granger Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28 ^th at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor from 6-8. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm.  Services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor on Thursday March 1, 2018 @ 11:00 am.  Burial to follow at  City of Taylor City cemetary.
