Cruz Rivera

September 14, 1940 — January 26, 2025

Cruz (Lopez) Rivera was called home by the Good Lord on Sunday, the 26th day of January, 2025. She passed away quietly surrounded by family. She was born to the late Mike and Rita Lopez on September 14, 1940. She was a faithful servant of God in the communities of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, both of Taylor, Tx.

She was a lady of great faith in God, a person of great work ethic, and one who enjoyed gathering with her family as often as she could. She took much care and pride in serving the children of St. Mary’s school as their cafeteria cook and enjoyed attending the various sporting and extracurricular activities which her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren involved themselves in.

A devoted wife, she is survived by her husband of 61 years, Antonio (Tony) Rivera.

A loving sister, she is survived by her siblings Steve Lopez, Brigido Lopez (Tina), Phillip Lopez, Andrew Lopez, and Isabel Richardson (Ronnie).

Matriarch of her family, she is survived by her children George (Aurora), Trinidad (Alice), Sebastian (Wendy) and Monica, along with 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

The Rivera family would like to extend special thanks to the administration and staff of Will-O-Bell Nursing Home who oversaw her care in her final days.
