Cruz Dominguez Heimer

Cruz Dominguez Heimer departed this life, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in Round Rock, Texas.

Cruz was born July 9, 1947, in Taylor, Texas,  to Ygnacio Dominguez and Conception Saucedo.  She grew up in a loving, close-knit, family with eight sisters and four brothers.  Cruz raised four children: Jimmy Jr, Barbara, Sylvia and Craig.  She married Chuck Heimer on April 21, 1990, and her family welcomed him as their own.  She worked at IBM for many years then decided to pursue her love of travel and became a travel agent.  She loved to cook, bake and sew.  Her culinary skills were legendary.   She made thousands of masks during the pandemic.  There is no way to know how many lives she saved by doing so.

Cruz is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Juan Dominguez, sister, Anne Lopez and granddaughter, Mariel Yannis.

Cruz is survived by her dance partner and husband of 31 years, Chuck, children, Jimmy (Norma) Yannis Jr., Barbara (Gus) Cisneros, Sylvia (Jesse) Anzaldua, Craig Yannis, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; 7 sisters: Tencha Gamez, Josie Lopez, Alice Carrizales, Connie Lopez, Janie Alvarado, Mary Gonzales, and Adela Duran ; 3 brothers: Eloy Dominguez, Ygnacio Dominguez Jr. and David Dominguez.  Cruz was a favorite aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am Tuesday, July 20th at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am.
