Clyde Edward Newman, Jr.

Clyde Edward Newman Jr., 76 of Thrall, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on January 31st, 2018. Born July 28th, 1941 in Phoenix, AZ he was the son of the late Clyde Edgar Newman and Ruby Augusta Newman.

Clyde graduated in the class of 1959 from Thrall High School. He then served in the Army for 3 years. While stationed in Germany he met the love of his life, Carmel Marie Burns during a trip to Ireland in 1961. They married on April 20th, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Brazoria, TX. Clyde was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and teaching each of them how to drive. Clyde was an electrician at Alcoa for 30 years. He was also an Associate member of the Thrall V.F.D.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Carmel Newman, his three children and their families. Troy Newman and wife Barbara, Neil Newman and wife Jennifer, and Erin Newman. His grandchildren Brooke Wells and husband Joe, Tanner Newman, Neil Newman II, Ryan Newman and wife Arianna, Eireann Conger and husband Cason and Claire Robinson. As well as three great- grandchildren Liam, Quinn and Eamonn Wells. He is also survived by his sister Nena Simpson and his brother Jimmy Newman and wife Margaret, sister-in-law Barbara Newman as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Ruby Newman, his brother Jack Newman and sister Ida Pharis.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:30pm- 7:30pm at Providence Funeral Home - Taylor.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Providence Funeral Home- Taylor with Pastor Jon Bielfeldt officiating.

Private burial to follow service at Taylor City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Neil Newman II, Ryan Newman, Tanner Newman, Joe Wells, Cason Conger and Mike Newman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Herman Kaase, Herb Rosipal, Gilbert Dominguez, Dale Rundell, Clay Karch, Paul Collins, and Will Good.

In lieu flowers family is requesting donations be made to TCEF - Thrall Community Education Fund at 201 S. Bounds St. Thrall, TX 76578.
