Clay Covey, 59, of Taylor peacefully passed away on December 5th, 2023.

Born in Austin, Texas to Emma & Sidney Covey. Clay was a fun loving, adventurous child. Growing up he was passionate about the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman. He loved to be at the lake fishing any chance he could with family and friends.

A love for the automotive world sparked his lifelong hobby. This fascination with automobiles led to his career path as a well known mechanic.

In 1985, Clay met his wife, Rae Tedford-Covey of Elgin and went on to have three wonderful children. Clay put his family first and was a loving husband, father and pawpaw. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family.

Clay was predeceased by two brothers, Ray Covey, Calvin Covey and Father, Sidney Covey. He is survived by his Mother, Emma Covey of Elgin, his wife of 38 years, Rae Tedford-Covey, Daughters Brandi Marshall and Husband Brady Marshall of Taylor, Brittany Harmon and Husband Chris Harmon of Willis, Son Garrett Clay Covey of Taylor, Brother John Covey of Elgin, Sisters Joyce Acosta of Elgin and Eva Kirkland of Belton, Nephews Roger Jr. Grady and Wife Amy Grady of Academy, John Grady and Wife Michelle Grady of Vernal Utah and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will held at a future date.
