Clarence Finn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born July 13, 1924 to Richard Finn and Alma Richter Finn. He married Lina Merkord on January 6, 1946, they were married for 63 years and blessed with five children.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lina Merkord Finn, son, Richard Finn, great granddaughter, Morgan Jones, son-in-law, Jerry Schmale, his parents, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by their children, Linda Finn Schmale, Betty Finn Jones and husband Ron, Darlene Finn Warwick and husband Elvin, Rose Finn Machu and husband Eugene. Nine grandchildren, Christine Schmale and husband Mark Hieronymus, Jason Schmale, Joe Jones and wife Jill, Rhonda Jones Rodriguez and husband Rodney, Tom Jones and wife Ami, Kevin Warwick, Jennifer Warwick Walsh and husband Lance, Tracy Machu, Michael Machu and wife Destinee. Great grandchildren, Alannah Jones, Reid Rodriguez, Austin Jones, Grace Jones, Reese Jones, Catherine Warwick, Michelle Warwick, Nathan Warwick, Taylor Walsh and Grayson Walsh. One sister, Ella Kuhl.
Clarence served in the Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1945, as a member of the Military Police, and was stationed in New Foundland. He was a member of the VFW and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. He and Lina farmed for many years in the Thorndale area, raised their children on the farm and later moved into town. Clarence liked to hunt and fish and opened his own saw sharpening shop. Clarence never met a stranger and would help anyone he could. He will be missed by all his family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Will-O-Bell Nursing Home in Bartlett for the wonderful care he received these many years.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Thorndale, Texas.
