Charles Ault Schroeder

The Schroeder Family is heartbroken to announce the death of Charles Ault Schroeder, 75, of Taylor, Texas, who sadly left us on May 7, 2024, due to natural causes.  Charlie enjoyed a 53-year career as an educator and counselor at Taylor ISD.  A beloved member of the Taylor Duck family, Charlie believed in the possibility of every student and was a trusted mentor to many fellow teachers and staff.  The impact he had on those he worked with, taught, and the community at large cannot be understated.  Many across the greater Austin area know him affectionately as Santa Claus.  He brought joy to countless families as “their Santa” being part of cherished holiday memories every year.

Nothing was more treasured for Charlie than his family.  From attending sporting events, to celebrating birthdays, graduations, marriages, and everything in between, you could always count on Charlie to be there to cheer you on.  He was a friend to all and made time for everyone whenever he was needed.  He brought so much happiness into this world and enjoyed life to the fullest.  He loved to tend his gardens, go fishing, take his jet ski out to the lake, and find a sporting event to attend.

Charlie was the son of Arnold and Esther Schroeder of Westhoff, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Rois Schroeder; children, Monica (Lane) Bowman & Chad (Alison) Schroeder, and five grandchildren: Blake, Brienna, Brylee & Brodie Bowman, and Carter Schroeder.

All who knew Charlie are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating his beautiful life.  A visitation will be held on Monday, May 13th from 5-7 p.m. at Taylor Providence Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14th at Taylor Providence Funeral Home with a procession immediately following to Taylor City Cemetery for burial services.
