Charles Allan Parker, Jr aka (Frog)

Charlie was born on June 27, 1960, to Charles and Gladys Parker in Taylor TX and later grew up and raised his family in Pflugerville.  Charlie married the love of his life Carolyn on August 16, 1980, they had 2 sons Christopher and Chase.  Charlie passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2022, and felt the love of his family around him.

Charlie lived a life full of adventures! He ran a successful family restaurant, Charlie’s steakhouse, for 40 years with pretty much his entire extended family at one point or another. If you lived in Pflugerville in those days, you have eaten there. It was amazing! If you knew Charlie, you knew he didn’t have much of a filter. It is rumored that he may have fired the same nephew three times in one day, but his mom would hire him back by the end of the day. Charlie could always be found working the cash register at the steakhouse on any given day. Many of those that worked with him became life-long friends like Bob Cocke.

One way he taught his boys responsibility, hard work and manners was thru stock shows and the boys still have many trophies to show for those younger years as well as those good manners. Chris and Chase are imbedding those same lessons with their children now thru the stock shows. Charlie also loved to go fishing. He loved to take family vacations and most of the time they were centered around fishing tournaments at the coast with his kids and grandkids. There is at least one trophy that Tye won and a fishing pole from the Deep-Sea tournament. There were also catfish tournaments on lake Buchanan with his boys and his buddy Cliff Kurio. He of course loved to go hunting as well on the family land in Talpa. The various RV’s making a horseshoe under the pavilion where Thanksgiving dinners were made and served in the earlier days. Family and friends enjoyed hunting, a warm fire and reminiscing under that pavilion for many years.

Charlie also enjoyed hanging out at Fuzzy’s talking to friends and playing pool. He loved classic rock! Eddie Van Halen Jump and AC/DC Thunderstruck are the two songs we can see him dancing to with his hands up in the air dancing away. Just ask the grandkids to reenact it for you…it is quite entertaining. Another thing Charlie loved deeply were his dogs. Ox, Hank and Bode’. They were his side kicks and never liked being left behind. They would go with them to the coast or just across the street to the lake and they always loved a good boat ride. They were his babies.

Charlie always had a dream to live on the Lake so he could fish whenever he wanted or just jump in his boat on any given day. They moved to Lake Buchanan 3 ½ years ago and he had all kinds of big plans and dreams he wanted to accomplish. He enjoyed the summer when the kids and grandkids would come and visit for the weekend and enjoy the lake. We can still hear him ending the evening with “What a crowd what a night!”

He is preceded in death by his father Charles Allan Parker Sr., mother-in-law Alice Beck, father-in law Roger Beck.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Carolyn, sons: Chris (Janna) of Red Rock, Chase (Kayde) of Cameron, Mother: Gladys Parker of Taylor, sisters: Vickie (Rick) Thornton of Taylor, Sabrina (Robert) Schmidt of Taylor, brother-in-law’s Bobby (Jaye) Beck of Austin, Jimmy Beck, Steve Beck of Pflugerville, Sister-in-law Judy (Gary) Ambrose of Red Rock. Half-sister-in-law Sabrina (Robert) Phillips,  Grandchildren: Tye, Hanna, Hayden, Colton, and Cate, Nieces and nephews: Eric (Laura) Smith of Leander, Stephanie (Gene) Shaw of Taylor, Lance (Rachael) Thornton of Cypress, Ross (Heidi) Thornton of Granger, Jenna (Rodney) Hardin of Tyler, Nicole Cole of Austin, Ashlee Beck (Nathan Hanna) of Austin, Cory (Wendy) Beck of Nacogdoches. Numerous great nieces, nephews, many lifelong friends and extended family.

Visitation will be at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G. Parker Blvd. Taylor, TX 76574 on Saturday March 5, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00PM.

In lieu of flowers take someone you love fishing. Charlie would like that.

Per Charlie’s wishes there will not be any graveside services.
