Celia Moore

June 12, 1936 — May 31, 2022

On May 31, 2022, our loving mother, Celia Law Moore, who lived 85 years, 11 months, 2 weeks & 5 days, left her earthly body & transcended to Heaven, peacefully singing songs of Praise.  She was born June 12th, 1936 to Wilbur and Dorothy Law of Clay Center Kansas. She was the matriarch of the family for both her sister, three brothers & their families, as well as her four children, and 6 grandchildren. She was a fighter, and fought up till the end. She was a very strong and determined woman with a bubbly, humorous and positive personality, she could laugh at some of the silliest things. Our mother, loved the Lord Jesus Christ, with all her heart and as a strong believer, was very knowledgeable in the Bible, & she could quote Bible scriptures that she had memorized throughout the years, for any type of situation. She, has now joined her loving husband & love of her life, John E Moore, who passed in 2004 & was married to him 13 years, 2 weeks & 8 days; as well as her father Wilbur Law and mother Dorothy Law Hite.

Our Mother, grew up in Austin Texas, and she would say: "I got here as soon as I could" from Kansas in 1945 with the rest of her family. She attended Pleasant Hill Schools, & was in the first graduation class at William B. Travis High School, she also attended various colleges throughout her years, studying education. Mother learned how to play the piano at a very early age and was gifted with that beautiful talent for over 75 years and played in both Austin & Houston areas for churches, Revivals, Weddings, Funerals & the Shriners of Austin. She also could sing, and would always fill-in whatever vocal part was needed whether it was Soprano or Alto, combining that with playing the piano. She also directed choirs, played for soloists, quartets & such. We often would gather around the piano and would all sing harmony of old hymnal songs. She had a gift of memorizing music, and could play you a 30-minute mini concert at the drop of a hat, sometimes she would practice two and three times a day to help maintain her memory & was as sharp as a tack. A few times, we went to Steinway of Austin, just so she could play the Grand Pianos & entertain the staff & customers. She loved playing the piano, a talent that God truly gifted her.

Our Mother, had four children with our Father, Simmon Lambert, who passed in 2012 and was married for 32 years: Sidney Lambert, Beverly Lambert, Valerie Lambert, and Barry Lambert. She also had 6 grandchildren: Barrett Krutsinger, Dylan Lambert, Zachary Lambert, Adrian Lambert, Ben Lambert, and Lexi Lambert, all of whom she loved dearly. She would have Campmemaw in the summertime and made many memories for both her and the grandchildren. She was so extremely proud of her grandchildren, who are all fine young adults. She coined the phrase that we were a family of "International Complication". She fostered many children in her twenties, while having two young children of her own. She also was involved with Beth Sar Shalom in Houston, and hosted several foreign exchange students in our home, through the Lions Club, and Youth for Understanding Organization. She worked several years with our father for Little Debbie Snack Cakes, and later became an Insurance Agent for many years after that, until she met & married John Moore.

As most of us know, Mom loved wearing hats & wore them for many years, she has requested that if you have a hat, please wear one in honor of her at the Service in the Cemetery.

She also loved balloons and they always made her happy! Thus, we will have balloons at the cemetery to be released in her honor to float upwards to heaven.

Thank you all for joining us on this day, to give our mother, Celia Law Moore a Celebration of Life, and someday may we all join her again, in Heaven.

Mom, we will always love you.

Sid, Beverly, Valerie & Barry
