Celia Mariea Stiles Beard, born on September 15, 1943, in the rustic beauty of Hog Mountain near Florence, TX, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Taylor, TX. Celia's journey was one of courage, resilience, and boundless love. Growing up in Jarrell, TX, she embraced life with gusto, excelling in academics, athletics, and a fierce competitive spirit. Her indomitable nature led her to pursue her dreams, eventually joining the US Marine Corps in 1963, where she served with honor and distinction, forging lifelong friendships, and showcasing her talents in typing and the arts.
After her military service, Celia embarked on a new chapter, settling in Bartlett, TX, where she found love in the whirlwind romance with her beloved husband. Their union was blessed with two children, whom she cherished above all else. As a military spouse, Celia navigated the challenges of constant relocation with grace, infusing each new adventure with warmth and joy. From Guam to Colorado to Nevada, she nurtured her family, creating a haven filled with laughter, love, and her renowned culinary delights.
In her retirement years, Celia's home in Krum became a haven for cherished family gatherings, where generations came together to celebrate love and togetherness. Her legacy lives on in the countless memories of laughter around the dinner table, the joy of gardening, and the warmth of her embrace. Celia will be remembered not only for her culinary prowess and her love of cats but also for her unwavering devotion to family and her contagious zest for life.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Celia was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Glen H. Beard; her parents, Johnnie and Ora L. Stiles (Pruitt) of Bartlett, TX; and sister, Tempie E. Kallus (Stiles) of Holland, TX.
Celia is survived by daughter, Zoanna Lax (Beard) of Krum, Tx; son, Robert Beard and wife Andrea of Taylor, TX; grandchildren, Zachary Lax and wife Emily of Krum, TX; Julianne Lax of Krum, TX, Alexis Garza and husband Adrian of Houston, TX; and Augustus “Gus” Beard of Taylor, TX; two great-grandchildren, Avery and AJ Garza of Houston, TX; sister, Dorothy Wales of Florence, TX; along with many beloved nieces and nephews, and her two cats, Rocky and Rambo.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Concho Hearts Hospice .
