Carmen E. Gonzalez, age 98, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2022.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Carmen was born on March 18, 1924 in Hutto, Texas to Magdaleno and Ella (Gonzalez)
Euresti. She grew up with three brothers and six sisters. As a child, she attended
school in a one room schoolhouse, and was a faithful daughter that helped to raise her
siblings. On January 15, 1949 she married the love of her life Candelario Gonzalez.
She and her beloved husband began their life traveling the United States for work.
Carmen was a woman of great strength and beauty working alongside her husband. In
the late 50’s they settled in Taylor, Texas to raise their children. Carmen worked for
many years at the University of Texas and later retired close to home at Intercraft.
Carmen was a woman of strong Christian faith. She enjoyed reading her Bible,
watching Christian television, and listening to Spanish Christian songs. Carmen loved
attending church until her health no longer permitted her. She will also be remembered
for her passion of crocheting for her children and grandchildren and cooking for her
family.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Candelario Gonzalez, her
son Jaime Gonzalez, stepchildren Walter Gonzalez and Esther Gayton, her sisters
Eva Vasquez and Amelia Castro, and her brother, Solomon Euresti.
She is survived by her children, John (Angie) Euresti, Yolanda (Augustine) Gomez,
Irene Gonzalez, Deana (Robert) Tysdal, Homero (Anna Marie) Gonzalez, Yvonne
(Domingo) Alderete, Jacquilyn (John) Craite; stepchildren Beatrice Vega, Delia Flores,
Alice Vega; siblings, Ruth Baldovino, Dora Ybarra, Olga Alvarado, Senaida Rioz, Franklink Euresti, and Harry Euresti;
fifty grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed
by a prayer service from 7-8 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas
Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 10:00am at
Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas, followed by interment at Taylor City
Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Providence Funeral Home for their kindness,
assistance, and comforting words. We would also like to thank the staff of Baylor Scott
& White Hospital. We appreciate all of the support and care our mom received by her
physicians, nurses, and her personal doctor, Dr. Nathan Cohen.
