Bobbie Jean Huff

Bobbie Jean Huff, 89, of Pflugerville, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White in Round Rock, Texas. She was born on June 24, 1933 to Sarah Flowers and Rusley Dobbin, Sr. in Taylor, Texas. She was raised in Taylor and attended O.L. Price school along with her siblings.

Bobbie was deemed a hard-working woman her entire life. Exuding style, grace, and beauty, as she began her working career modeling for department stores in Chicago, Illinois in the 1950’s. Followed by a position at Bluebonnet Nursing Home in Granger, Texas as a medication aide. Bobbie was a unit supervisor with the State of Texas with Travis State School in Austin, Texas where she later retired in 1994 with over 20 years of service to the MHMR community for whom she loved and adored. A few years after retirement, she worked part-time at a group home in Taylor, Texas.

Bobbie was known for her soft-spoken words and warm heart. She had a passion for being a help to others, especially her loved ones. She enjoyed fishing, bingo, long walks in the park, and weekend BBQ’s at the lake with family and friends. She was an avid domino and cards player. Teaching everyone how to play spades and solitaire.

Bobbie was raised in the church, where she attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church, in Taylor, Texas, as she reveled in her deep-rooted faith and her relationship with God for her entire life.

Bobbie is preceded in in death by her parents, her siblings, Rusley Dobbins Jr, LD Dobbins, Leo Dobbins, Katherine Dobbins, Lillie Mae Griffin, and Maxine Mills, her grandson, baby David Jones, Jr. and great-granddaughter baby Kamilla Jackson. Step-children: Marcus Huff Jr, Rose Davis, Shirley Brue, and Sheila Huff.

Left to cherish her memory: daughters Sheila Saul of Pflugerville, Texas, Shea Jones (Gerald) of Taylor, Texas, Shasta Okunbar (Maurice) of Hutto, Texas, and Sharrah Jackson (Greg) of Pflugerville, Texas. Step-children Linda Seabrooks of Taylor, Texas, Vicki Smith of Killeen, Texas, and Chris Huff of Georgetown, Texas. Grandchildren: Trenton McCormick (Kari), Tempest Coulter (Justin), Rogee’ Saul, Reagon Dawson (Rickey), Amaris Jones, Briana Doucet (Joseph), Brittany Buckman, Gregory Jackson II, and Aaliyah Jackson. Great-grandchildren: Landon, Camren, Brenee’, Danyee, Simaya, Kaison, Summer, Amiyah, Kambrie, Santana, Kennedi, and Boston. And a host of many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A special friend, Ms. Betty Hargrove and a very special family friend L.C. Cox, Jr.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday December, 3rd at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Drive, Taylor Texas from 2:00PM-3:00PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00PM.
