Blanche Marie Knapek was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born December 6, 1936 to Otto and Magerlen Patterson in Meridian, Tx. She married Louis Knapek on December 28, 1968 and they were married for 49 years. She was called by our Heavenly Father on November 8th, 2018.
Blanche attended Meridian Highschool where she was a cheerleader and member of the basketball team. Blanche continued her sports career by playing with friends in local bowling and volleyball tournaments. Her love of sports was evident all these years as she attended countless games played by her kids and grandkids. Blanche loved to cook and can. Her peanut brittle and fudge were everyone’s favorite at family gatherings as well as her pickles and hot sauce. Blanche also loved to sew. She made numerous dresses and costumes for her kids and grandkids. She also spent time with her large family fishing and play cards and dominoes. Lastly, Blanche loved to volunteer. She spent countless hours working at St. Mary’s Church and School.
She is preceded in death by her dad, Otto Patterson, her mom, Magerlen Patterson, her brother, Otto Patterson Jr and her first husband Alvin Hinze.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Hilliard and husband Dan, Ronnie Hinze and wife Karen, Alan Hinze and wife Paula, Bruce Hinze, Wesley Knapek and wife Kim. Twelve grandchildren, Louis Stuchly, Lacey Smith and husband Jeff, Levi Stuchly and Tracy, Ann Scott and husband Daniel, Rhonda Felderhoff and husband Terry, Sam Hinze, Mary Hinze, Mandi Lievens and husband Ben, Alicia Hinze, Kendra Bass and husband Shawn, Karlie Knapek, and McKenna Knapek. She is also survived by her siblings, Peggy Tankersley and husband Bobby, Danny Patterson and wife Judy, LouAnnn Hildebrand and husband Don, and sister-in-law, Jean Patterson. Many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are; Louis Stuchly, Levi Stuchly, Sam Hinze, Darren Tankersley, Jeff Hildebrand and Damon Patterson. Honorary pallbearers: Curtiss Patterson, Brett Tankersley, Greg Tankersley, Bobby Stuchly and Kenneth Patterson.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm with Rosary following on Saturday, November 10 th , 2018 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral will be held Sunday, November 11 th , 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Granger, Texas.
