Betty Jane (Naizer) Pekar, 72, of Granger, Texas went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 24, 2021.
Betty was born on December 21, 1949, in Temple, Texas to Johnnie H. and Georgia Ann (Gaida) Naizer. She grew up with one brother, Johnnie J. Naizer. She graduated from Granger High School and then Southwestern University, and then became a fourth-grade teacher until her retirement.
Betty married Terry W. Pekar on May 1, 1971, and had three children. She treasured her time watching her three children and three grandchildren grow up.
She was passionate about daily prayer and attending weekly mass. She also enjoyed watching game shows, and spending holidays with her friends and family. She especially loved celebrating Christmas.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie H. and Georgia Naizer. She is survived by her husband, Terry W. Pekar; children, Terry Lee Pekar, Todd Pekar and wife Sarah, and Tera Pekar; and grandchildren, Thomas, Daniel, and Eva Pekar. She is also survived by her brother, Johnnie J. Naizer and wife Rosanne, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 30, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. She will then be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Granger.
