Betty Lou Banks

Betty Lou Bunch Banks, age 89 of Taylor passed away, Sunday, April 29, 2018.

She was born October 17, 1928 in Waxahachie, Texas to Hattie Lou & John Bunch.

Betty married Billy Banks on January 1, 1946. She has been a resident of Taylor since 1958.  Together Betty and Billy owned and operated B&M Tractor Parts, Inc. for 28 years. She served as its bookkeeper during those years.

Betty was a member of Highway 95 Church of Christ and taught Sunday School for the church. She was also a member of New Century Club, Band Boosters, Girl Scouts of America, and Taylor Lions Clubs. As a band booster she helped raise money for new uniforms for Taylor High School Band and was a Leader of Troop 14 of Girl Scouts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Bunch; husband, Billy Banks; brothers, John C. Bunch and Ed Bunch; sisters, Virginia Brooks and Helen Ashton.

Survivors include daughters; Becky Smith and husband Dierre of Fredericksburg, Texas, Carolyn Minzenmayer and husband Doug of Taylor, Texas, and Sandra Lindsey and husband Fred of Canyon Lake, Texas; grandchildren; Leesa Kalka, Selena Cockrill and husband Garrett, Bill Smith, Chris Minzenmayer and wife Lauren, Carrie Pyle and husband Kenneth,  Courtney Shelton and husband Archie, Michael Lindsey and Ashley Miller, and Sarah Strom; great-grandchildren, Megann Kalka, Royce Kalka, Payge Smith, Lennon Cockrill, Astrid Cockrill, Brodie Smith, Kyle Minzenmayer, Jax Minzenmayer, Brooke Minzenmayer, Carson Pyle, and Karli Pyle Douglas Shelton, Adlee Shelton, Nora Shelton, and Rhys Strom; sisters, Peyton Middleton and Mary Jo Odom; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Chris Minzenmayer, Michael Lindsey, Jim Stoffregen, Ted Stoffregen, and Bill Stoffregen

Honorary Pallbearers are Terry Greene, Royce Kalka, and Buddy Banks

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Highway 95 Church of Christ with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery
