Bernie "Buddy" Porter Barnes

Buddy was born in Bertram, Texas on June 30, 1946 to George Porter Barnes and Alma Edna (Fox) Barnes. He passed from this earth on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 73.

He married Reva Daniell on September 9, 1966 and they shared the last 53 years together. Buddy enlisted in the United States Army and retired on September 30, 1973. He could repair just about anything that was broken. Buddy worked in facility maintenance and retired from BAE Systems after over 30 years in 2005. Buddy was a great cook. He loved to hunt and also to fish for black bass in lakes all over Texas. He just loved the outdoors and seeing all the wonders God has made.

Surviving him are his wife Reva; two daughters Jennifer (Toby) Tucker and Amy Zeplin; grandchildren Laiha Peterson, Aspynn Kaderka, Timothy Tucker, and Rylee Zeplin; one great grandson Brayden Martinez; two brothers Joe Barnes and Daniel (Jonell) Clawson; sister Mary Pool; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, a charity of your choice, or if possible, donate blood to an area blood bank.
