Bennie Joe Tomecek

Bennie Joe Tomecek, age 75, of Salado, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Bennie was born to Bennie L. Tomecek and Mildred (Friedrich) Tomecek on December 18, 1944, near Bartlett, Texas.  He was raised in Schwertner, Texas, and attended grade school in both Schwertner and Bartlett until the 10 ^th grade.  Later he attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Taylor, Texas, where he graduated in 1963.  After graduating Bennie attended Nixon-Clay Technical College.

Bennie married Bonnie Jean Meiske on November 16, 1963, and together they raised two children Terrill and Wendy in Channelview, Texas, where he worked for ARMCO Steel.

In 1971, they relocated to Taylor, Texas, where Bennie and Bonnie started their own successful business, Tomecek Electric Motor Repair.  Bennie later became president of the Southwestern chapter of EASA, (Electrical Apparatus Service Association) in 1998.  Bennie and Bonnie operated the motor business until 2000 when they decided to retire and moved to Salado, Texas, where they settled in their log home and enjoyed peaceful evenings watching deer and wildlife.

Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Mildred Tomecek, his sister, Linda Moore, and son-in-law, Scott Nattin.

Bennie is survived by his wife, Bonnie, son, Terrill, daughter-in-law, Irene, daughter, Wendy Nattin, brother, Mike Tomecek, sister-in-law, Karen, and niece, Mona Rieger. Also, his grandchildren: Brianna Coston and husband Tyler, Jeanene Tomecek, Joelene Tomecek, and Japheth Tomecek.  Great grandchildren include: Aiden and Adley Taylor, Zane and Bristol Coston, and step grandchild, Nicole Askew and family. Also surviving is his loyal and devoted dog, Puppinko.

Bennie was loved by many and he made an impact on nearly everyone he met.
