Barbara Caballero

Barbara Kay (Ross) Caballero, 65 passed away February 17, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October5, 1965 in Austin, TX, the daughter of Tommy and Dora (Simmons) Ross.

Barbara graduated from West Mesa High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico Class of 1974. Following graduation, she followed her passion for caring for children and became a daycare provider. She soon married the love of her life, Fernando Caballero, and was a homemaker caring for her two beautiful daughters, Tasha and Ashley.

Barbara enjoyed listening to music, joy rides in the country, girls’ day shopping and searching for different house plants with her sister, family gatherings especially with all of the children, and cooking. She played a huge part in raising three generations of “youngins”. She had a heart of gold and would give her last to help anyone.

In addition to her parents, Tommy and Dora Ross, and husband, Fernando, she was predeceased by brother, Michael Ross and Nephew, Karl Ross, Jr.

She is survived by daughters, Tasha (Ross) Gonzalez and husband, Hector, and Ashley Ross of Taylor; sisters, Patricia Ross and Donna Turner of Taylor; brothers, Karl, Gary and Brian Ross of Taylor; nephews, Tommy and Jonathan Ross of Taylor, Michael Ross of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces, Franchaska Ross, Kiyana Turner, and Tamerah Williams Ross of Taylor, and Robiah Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Alissa, Adrian, Ariana, Jaeden, Tommy, Miyla, and Gunner Ross of Taylor, and Allijah Ford of Pflugerville, and a host of family and friends.

There will be an intimate viewing and service on Monday February 28, 2022, at 11:00 am at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd. NW, Taylor, TX, 76574. Per Barbara’s wishes, no burial will follow.

The family would like to thank Baylor Scott and White Health in Round Rock and in Temple and Baylor Scott and White Hospice for the wonderful care provided, and Providence Funeral Home for their services, and the many phone calls and text messages received.
