Arthur Munoz Orta

March 20, 1956 — July 27, 2022

Arthur M. Orta was born March 20, 1956 in Austin, TX to Paul M. Orta, Sr. and Maria Munoz Orta and went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 5:32 am.

Pastor grew up with three sisters and one brother. He graduated from Johnston High School in 1975, and married his beautiful wife, Adele, June 6, 1976. From this God ordained union, came four amazing children, Brandi, Arthur, Mary and Simon.

Pastor Orta gave his life to the lord in 1973, at the age of 17. He began his journey with his younger sister, Anna. She would sing and he would preach. They were always together. So much so, that people would think they were married. They would look at each other, laugh and say, “NO! We’re brother and sister!”. Ha-ha! As children, Pastor Orta and his sister would play church. His sister would line up her stuffed monkeys, Pastor would preach and his sister would sing! They had been practicing for years before their actual ministries began…how beautiful!

In the mid-90s Pastor Orta began Jesus is Alive Ministries through a radio station – Gospel 1060 AM. From then on, he pastored his church for 27 years, until the Lord called him home. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his church family all so dearly. His favorite holiday was Christmas! He enjoyed his inflatables, snow globes, and all the lights and festivities.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Paul M. Orta, Sr. and Maria M. Orta; sister, Anna M. Reyna; and brother, Paul M. Orta, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Adele Orta; his children and their families, Brandi and Kenneth Prieto, Arthur Orta, Jr. and Monica Orta, Mary and Israel Garcia, Simon and Rosie Orta; 11 grandchildren, Melany, Alex, Monica, Jennifer, Moses, Layla, Xavier, Bianca, Jonathan, Presley and Monique; sisters, Yoli Reyes and Reyes Martinez; brother-in-law, Pedro Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
