Antonio (Tony) Alderete, 72, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on September 2, 2020. Tony was born and raised in Taylor, Texas, on March 10, 1948. He was one of thirteen children born to Cruz and Amparo Alderete.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Elenor Carmona and his brother, Cruz Alderete, Jr.
He is survived by his sisters: Gloria (Crestino) Villarreal; Rebecca Alderete, Orfelina (Elias) Villalobos; Elizabeth (Joe) Longoria; Rosa (Edward) Burton and brothers: Rodolfo (Lydia); Robert, Saul, David (Mary Helen); Daniel (Martha) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was a wonderful person with a great smile and personality. He was a person who could not be idle. He always had to be busy. So, he busied himself by working at the church he attended: cutting the grass, painting, cleaning the fellowship hall and whatever else he saw that needed to be done. He loved to sing, and he would raise his voice in song at the church. He would sing a special song of praise when given the opportunity. On those days, when he found himself without anything to do, he would walk!
He loved his nieces and nephews. They have described him as fun-loving and always happy. He enjoyed making them laugh and share a joke or two with them. He was always kind and willing to help even with the great-nieces and nephews. He was a very caring and loving person. He was their amazing uncle from their young age all the way to adulthood. They certainly felt the love he had for them.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and began the battle but on September 2, 2020, he took his last breath and went home to meet his Heavenly Father. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to express a very special “Thank You” to their niece, Rebecca Alderete, and their nephew, Steven Alderete, for their dedication, love and support they gave to their uncle over the years.
Honoring their Uncle Tony as Pallbearers are Arturo Alderete, Arnold Alderete, Johnny Rodriguez, David Alderete, Jr., Lucas Alderete and Felipe Dominguez.
