Ann Lee Brueckner, a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024. Ann's unwavering faith was the foundation of her life, and she carried Jesus with her wherever she went, sharing His love and kindness with everyone she encountered. She truly never met a stranger, as her warmth and generosity touched all who crossed her path.
Ann was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, a caring mother to her children, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother whose love and support were constants in the lives of her family. Her legacy of faith and family will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
She filled her days with joy and passion, from playing tennis and avidly watching tennis and football to traveling and sharing laughter over games and card games, especially bridge. She was very dedicated to her church and joyfully taught Sunday school for many years. Ann's gift for entertaining brought people together, creating cherished memories and celebrating the blessings of community and friendship.
Ann's life was a testament to love, faith, and generosity. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a beacon of light and a source of endless inspiration.
She is survived by her five children, twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Devvie Gibbs of Taylor, Pam Stabeno and husband Lloyd of Taylor, Mike Brueckner and wife Kim of Bayview, Michele Vanecek and husband Tom of Thrall, and Barbara Talavera and husband Manda of Taylor. Grandchildren Kristi Suchomel and husband Tony of Burnet, Casey Burkhart and wife Meredith of Burnet, Patrick Stabeno of Taylor, Cassie Samuelson and husband Jordan of Hutto, Alex Brueckner of Irving, Aaron Vanecek and wife Audrey of Taylor, Paige Cotner and husband Jed of Hutto, Tyler Vanecek of Round Rock, Zach Talavera and Oscar of Fort Collins, Colorado, Taylor Pruett and husband Tyler of Richmond, Zane and Gray Talavera of Taylor. Sister, Bonnie Elliott and husband John of Athens, Tennessee, brother-in law Doug Irby of Lexington, sister-in-law Betty Ann Stried and husband Carl of Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind numerous friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace (Sonny) Joe Brueckner, her parents Howard and Geneva Smith, her sisters Ava Dee Griffith and Geneva Irby, her brothers Archie "Buster" Smith and Jack Smith, granddaughter Angela Lee Burkhart and great-grandson Charlie Anderson Suchomel.
A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10am at First Baptist Church, 2500 Mallard Lane, Taylor, Texas.
Her legacy lives on through her family and all the lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
