Andrew Hernandez Gonzales

May 16, 1951 — April 6, 2022

Andrew Hernandez Gonzales, 70, of Taylor passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was born to Bernabe and Dolores Gonzales. Andrew was a lifetime resident of Taylor. He was a proud graduate of Taylor High School and attended Temple Junior College. He went on to marry the love of his life, Macaria Lopez. In their fifty two years of marriage, they created a beautiful family with four children: Gregoria Denise (Jeff), Andrew Jr., John Carlos, and Bernabe Adrian (Briana). He was a proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Andrew was known as a hard worker, dedicating 21 years of his life to Motorola and 10 years to Time Warner Cable. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the City of Taylor Parks & Recreation Board, League of United Latin American Citizens, and the Umpires Association. When he wasn’t coaching or cheering on his loved ones at a sporting event, he could be found umpiring baseball and softball or hosting tournaments.

Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Catarino and Antonio, three sisters, Cecilia, Santos, and Felipa, his daughter, Gregoria and his granddaughter, Geniveve. He is survived by his wife, three sons, six brothers: Benito (Mary Helen), Gumisindo, Lee (Mary), Henry (Rosie), George, and Johnny, and three sisters: Virginia, Josie (Solomon), and Mary Lou (Lorenzo).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taylor. Services and Cremation are under the direction of Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.
