Andres Gatdula Rozales

October 17, 1947 — June 14, 2024

Andres "Andy" Rozales, 76, of Granger, Texas, passed away on June 14, 2024. Born on October 17, 1947, in Laguna, Philippines, Andy moved to California at the age of three and later became a naturalized American citizen.

At 19, Andy left the University of California, Berkeley, to join the United States Army, where he served two tours in Vietnam from 1967-1968 and 1969-1970. He distinguished himself on the battlefield, earning the Bronze Star for heroism. During his service, he met and married Maria Perez Rozales. After completing his military service in 1975, Andy and Maria settled in Granger, Texas, where they raised three children: Debbie, David, and Donna.

Andy worked in construction for many years, building and remodeling homes in Taylor, Texas, and the surrounding areas. He took pride in his work, often pointing out homes he had built or renovated. In retirement, Andy enjoyed leatherworking, forging knives, and making leather goods for his family. He loved fishing trips with his son-in-law Jason and spending time with his grandchildren. At home, he cherished the company of his two dogs and enjoyed watching his favorite movies and TV shows.

Andy is survived by his son, David, and wife, Reagan; daughter, Donna, and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Jasper Rozales, Geizel (Dawson) Tamez, Pacey Wright, Gwenyth Wright, Jacob (Italia) Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren, Dean "Deebo" Tamez, Dayton "Dayday" Tamez, Olivia Rodriguez, Jared Rodriguez, Jenesis Rodriguez, and Jemini Rodrigues.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Evelyn Rosales; wife, Maria; and daughter, Debbie.

His loving, caring, and selfless nature touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed.
