Adrian Gene Herrin, 78, of Hutto passed away Monday, May 18, 2020. Adrian was born to Chester and Florine Herrin on July 20, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas.
Adrian attended public school in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. He then entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany. On the GI Bill, Adrian studied at Southwest Texas State University where he met his wife, Lynda. They were married on May 30, 1970 at Hutto Discovery UMC and were greatly looking forward to their golden wedding anniversary later this month. Adrian worked in Houston’s oil and gas field, serving in many capacities, including as an accountant, chief financial officer, and manager of accounting. Because of his talent and respect within the industry, Adrian was never without a job, even continuing as a consultant after retirement. Adrian was known for his kind and gentle spirit and determination to get the job done. After retiring to Hutto, Adrian became involved with many volunteer organizations, including Lions Club, Hutto Cemetery, Hutto Food Pantry, Friends of the Hutto Public Library, and Hutto Resource Center.
Adrian is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynda Nygrin Herrin; son, Sean (Jennifer) Herrin; two grandchildren, Liam and Lexie; siblings, Danny (Terry) Herrin, Lloyd (Laura) Herrin, Phyliss Herrin, and Joyce (Jim) Cozby.
Serving as pallbearers are Terry Herrin, Larry Herrin, Denny Herrin, Dustin Herrin, Lee Bingham, and Wendell Teltow. Shelley Manley, a dear and close friend of the family, will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hutto City Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Johnny Brower of Hutto Discovery UMC. If you are unable to attend, funeral services will be live streamed via Providence Funeral Home Facebook Page and you are also invited to sign the online guestbook.
