Curtis A. Leschber, 79, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Scott & White Hospital in Taylor. Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Curtis was born Jan. 19, 1931 to Ewald and Mamie Leschber in Taylor, Texas. Curtis and his wife Oma Lee owned and operated the Taylor Beverage Barn for 18 years. Some of the things he loved dearly were hunting year round, fishing and the great outdoors. He loved coaching youth league baseball and community league baseball. He loved spending time with his family and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Curtis is was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Mamie Leschber.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Oma Lee Leschber; children: Amy Watson of Taylor, Kenneth Leschber and wife Kim of Rockdale, Teresa Talley and husband Tommy of Taylor, Daniel Leschber and wife Teresa of Snook; brother Ivan (Tootle) Leschber and wife Barbara of Taylor; sister Rosalie Havelka of Austin; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Shelton, Clayton, Brent, Trent, Tyler, Troy and Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hirt and close friends.
Memorials may be made to the Taylor Little League Association.
