Jose “Pepe” Gonzales Jr. ,62, of Taylor went home to our heavenly father Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at his home in Taylor.

Joe was born January 5, 1948, to Jose Gonzales Sr and Julia V. Gonzales of San Juan, Texas.

He loved eating breakfast at Sirloin Stockade every weekend after a long work week. He was a simple man, i.e., spending time with his family, friends, and entertaining love ones with dancing and singing. He had a special gift of making people smile and laugh with his “Good Morning!” greeting. His favorite things to do were: spending time with his brother at the bowling alley, eating at Sirloin in Taylor, sitting at McDonald’s in Wal-Mart watching the people walk by while he sat and ate an ice cream and drank a diet soda. He enjoyed going home to San Juan, Texas every chance he got, he would ask, “When are we going to San Juan again?” This would be right after we just got home. He always enjoyed his grandchildren’s company and restful nights afterwards with his Sci-Fi movies on cable.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Jose Gonzales Sr and Julia V Gonzales and brothers Jesse Gonzales of Taylor and Robert Gonzales of Ohio.

He is survived by one brother, Benjamin Gonzales and family of Taylor; 3 daughters: Nicole Luna and husband Jay of Taylor, Judy Arroyo of Taylor, Norma Rodriguez and husband Frank of Yoakum; 2 sons: Michael Gonzales and wife Jessica and Santos Gonzales and wife Christine both of Taylor, 1 stepson: Ignacio Yannis of Taylor. Grandchildren: Amber N. Luna, Amanda M. Luna, Angelica Arroyo, Pedro Arroyo Jr, Jonathan Gonzales and wife Yaref of Hutto, Deziree, Jeremiahs, and Joseph Gonzales, and Fabein Yannis, Eric Rodriguez of Yoakum.
