Bennie Mikus, 95, formerly of Taylor passed away.
Graveside Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Taylor City Cemetery.
Bennie F. Mikus was born on August 4, 1915 in Rice’s Crossing in Williamson County to Anton and Sophie Mikus. He was the eldest of their five children.
Bennie and his wife, Lorene Becker, were married for seventy-one years when she passed away in July of 2006.
Bennie is survived by one daughter, Joyce Greinert of Brenham and one son, Bennie Mikus Jr. of Terrell, four grandchildren, Rhonda Ehlert of Brenham, Ronald Greinert of Bryan, Randy Mikus of Ooletwah, Tennessee and Laura Henggeler of Roanoak, Texas. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Bennie had a deep and abiding love and respect for his family and the many friends he collected along the way. A more honorable gentlemen would be hard to find.
Bennie was a member of the Taylor SPJST since 1956.
He and Lorene moved from Taylor to Austin shortly after his tour of duty in World War II. There, spent most of his working years as a Regional Manager for Ponca Wholesale. After retirement, he and Lorene moved back to Taylor in 1977 to live for the remainder of their years.
