Doris Maxine Walker Johnson

Doris Maxine Walker Johnson, 87, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010. Doris was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Doris Walker was born in Hutto, Texas February 2, 1923 the daughter of Fannie and Porter Walker. She was a lifelong resident of Hutto and a member of the Hutto Lutheran Church.

On October 31, 1942 she married Harvey Johnson. She worked for the Williamson County School District and Leander School District as an Administrative Assistant in the Special Education Department.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Harvey, her parents, two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her son Bert and his wife, Sherrie Johnson of Hutto, daughter Nancy Wendland of Houston, five grandchildren, Melanie Leopold, Darin Johnson, Shana Rhoades, Wendy Wendland Elder, and Ryan Wendland, four great grandchildren, Laurel Leopold, Jacob Leopold, Bryce Leopold, and Zoe Rhoades.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 15th from 2 to 4 PM at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Sunday May 16, 2010 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas with Rev. Dr. Mark H. Gruebmeyer of Hutto Lutheran Church officiating. The burial will follow in the Hutto City Cemetery, Hutto, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Terry Kuhlman, Joe Kuhlman, Lloyd Downing, Ronnie Downing, Dr. Robert Ray, and Mike Ray.

Memorials may be made to Hutto Lutheran Church, Hutto, Texas.
