Glenda (Kathy) K. Mares

Kathy Mares, 60 of Thrall, TX has gone to her final resting place after a long 3 year battle with cancer on July 10, 2017.

She was born in Ft. Worth, TX on July 11, 1956.

Her life-long passion was taking care of people. Kathy always put others first, whether she was taking care of family at home or her patients during her 20 plus year career as a registered nurse.

Her many hobbies include sewing, gardening, baking and dancing, especially to Elvis! Her favorite pastime was sitting in front of a slot machine.

She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Mares; sons, Paul Payne III, and wife Suzi of Carlsbad, NM, Dusty Payne and wife Tandie of Thrall, TX, Casey Payne and wife Kayla of Melrose, NM; daughter Ashlee Suchomel and husband Wesley of Thrall, TX; and 8 grandchildren; Amberlee, Wyatt, Cailey, Stormie, Aaron, Shaelei, Weston, and Ashlynn. 2 brothers; Lloyd Henderson and wife Cathy and Gary Henderson and wife Shirley; 3 sisters; Dianne Ake and husband Jeff, Kim Pierce and Husband Calvin, and Trish Wilson and significant other Guy; and their families.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, 2pm July 18th at Providence Funeral Home 807 Carlos Parker Blvd., Taylor, TX 76574.
