Judge Alvin James "Ben" Morales age 67 passed away Monday June 19, 2017. Ben was born in Taylor, TX. After graduating Taylor High School he served his country in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1973. After which he pursued a political science degree at Southwest Texas State University graduating in 1976. Soon thereafter, he married Liz Gamez June 19, 1976 and made the move to Houston to pursue his law degree at Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he graduated in 1979. Upon passing the bar, Ben and his family moved to Laredo where he served the city, as an attorney in private practice, and then as a Judge from 1991 to 2014, afterwards Ben and Liz retired to Pflugerville to be close to their daughters, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents Juanita Gomez and Americo Morales, brothers Fred Morales and Anthony Morales and sisters; Lucinda Morales, Yolanda Rogers (Bob) and Eva Morales.
Ben is survived by his loving wife Liz Morales, daughters Marisa Morales and Raquel Leal (Christian) and as Ben referred to them: his grand-dogs, Rigby and Dylan.
Memorial services will be held Saturday June 24, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX at 10:00 am.
