Lucy Quinonez Ochoa

December 14, 1944 — June 17, 2017

Lucy Q. Ochoa, 72, of Austin, went to her heavenly home on June 17, 2017. Lucy was a strong woman who fought a courageous fight until the end.

Lucy was born to Feliciano and Mary Quinonez on Dec. 14, 1944 in Elgin, TX. She attended school in the Austin area and worked in the Electronics industry, including Texas Instruments, Tandem and Dell, Inc. where she retired from her management/ trainer position.

Lucy met the love of her life Wally at a young age and they were married on May 19, 1962. They had 3 children and worked hard to make sure that their family’s needs were met.

Lucy was a loving, quiet lady who always went out of her way to help her family and friends. She loved and trusted her Lord and served Him faithfully. Lucy’s home church was Shoreline Church, where she served as a greeter.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Ochoa, parents, Feliciano and Mary Quinonez, brothers, Johnny Quinonez and Reverend Fred Quinonez.

She is survived by her daughters, Trini Hernandez and husband George, Sylvia Michalik and husband Gregory, son, Jesse Ochoa and wife Anita, grandchildren: Jamie, Michael, Ruben, Jessica, Laura, Alyssa, Phillip, and Julia. Sisters, Hope Kibbie (Bob), Nellie Reese.

A graveside service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX on June 21 at 10 a.m. Pallbearers, Michael Hernandez, Ruben Coleman, Phillip Ochoa, Raymond Renteria, Jr. Honorary pallbearers, George Hernandez and Gregory Michalik.

The family would like to thank those who have cared for Lucy; especially SPJST Nursing and Granger Villa.
