Carolyn Elizabeth Beran

January 3, 1943 — June 16, 2017

Carolyn Elizabeth (Schroeder) Beran, 74, of Thrall, returned to her heavenly home on June 16, 2017, after a valiant battle with a brief illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm faith in God supported her during her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Carolyn was born to Albert and Hilda Schroeder, in Taylor, Texas on January 3, 1943. She graduated from Taylor High School in 1961, where she was one of the top ten honor graduates in her class. Soon after, she accepted a position as a purchaser with the Texas Department of Transportation, where she worked until she retired in 1995.

Carolyn met her husband, Carl Beran, Jr., while selling Tupperware door-to-door, and they were married a few months later on March 14, 1969. Through their marriage, they united their two families; Carolyn and her daughter Cindy, and Carl and his two daughters Kathy and Cynthia. A few years later, they welcomed their daughter Carla. Together they raised their four daughters on their farm in Thrall, Texas. They enjoyed many family vacations at their favorite coastal town, Rockport, Texas.

Carolyn was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to help others. She was passionate about helping those less fortunate, and she took an active role in serving her church through their many outreach programs.

She is dearly missed by her family and friends, who are at peace knowing she is now celebrating her new life with Jesus Christ.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Carl; her daughters, Kathy Beran, Cynthia Harrison and husband Bobby, Cindy MaCuk and husband Ben, and Carla Clegg and husband Brian. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters Marilyn Stauffer and Lillian Buzan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hilda Schroeder.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor, on Friday, June 23, 2017, at 10:30 am, with a reception to follow at the church fellowship hall. Pastors George Qualley and Walter Miller will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in memory of Carolyn, or to the charity of your choice. Condolences and memories are gladly accepted at www.taylorprovidencefuneralhome.com.
