Our loving and brilliant husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, son and friend, Anthony Roy Morales, 60, of Taylor Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on Sunday, June 11, 2017.
He was born on October 26, 1956 in Taylor, Texas. He courageously and heroically fought his battle with cancer and is gone but will never be forgotten.
He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in his early years and graduated at the age of 16 from Taylor High School. He was declared a Taylor legend because he was on the baseball team as a remarkable player that won the State Championship in 1972. He received his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas, Austin and was a lifetime UT member. He always had season tickets for the Longhorns and was the #1 Green Bay Packers fan.
He worked at Polycom Inc. and at Dell Computers and was a certified Project Manager. He was also able to travel the world through work.
His love of classic rock was contagious and he loved playing his guitar. His witty jokes and sense of humor left everyone he met with a smile on their face.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife Diane Morales, and son Jacob Morales, stepchildren Kris Cruz and Meaghan Cruz, and his dog Lil Angel. He is also survived by brothers; Robert Morales (Matilda), Ray Morales (Evelyn) and Judge Ben Morales (Liz) and sisters; Olga Morales, Denise Morales, Veronica Morales, Rosalie Morales-Minijarez (Luis), Lourdes Cortes (Fernando) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by parents Juanita Gomez and Americo Morales, brother Fred Morales and sisters; Lucinda Morales, Yolanda Rogers (Bob) and Eva Morales.
As he courageously fought cancer at home, Anthony’s wife Diane was his caregiver and all of his children helped to take care of their dad. In addition to his family looking after him, New Century Hospice also treated him with great respect, dignity and as if he was a part of their family.
Pallbearers will include: Michael and Martin Garcia, Chris Vega, Dell Buckalew, John Howard, John Monier and honorary pallbearer Eddie Vega.
The Rosary service will be held at Providence Funeral Home 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd. NW, Taylor Texas, 76574 on Thursday, June 15 at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 408 Washburn Street, Taylor Texas, 76574 on Friday, June 16 at 2 pm with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Donations can be made in Anthony’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic School 520 Washburn Street, Taylor Texas, 76574.
