Lula Mae Griffin was born December 22, 1942 to the parentage of Thedore Roosevelt Owens and LuVelma (Brown) Owens in Bastrop County.
Lula was educated in the Elgin public schools until she met the man of her dreams, Charlie James Griffin (Bo) and to this union they had six children.
Lula began working at Ramada Hotel and later SPJST Rest Home until she decided to retire.
Lula was a wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, but most importantly she was a friend. She was a “tell it like it is” woman who never missed an opportunity to offer counsel, a laugh or just a smile. She fought a long hard battle but she stayed true to her faith, never fussing or complaining. She was a true believer in our Savior Lord Jesus. Lula’s smile remained so bright and beautiful until her last day here on earth. We know that smile became even brighter when her feet touched Heaven’s Street of Gold.
Lula entered eternal rest on April 27, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was truly loved and will be missed by all. Lula was greeted beyond Heaven’s gates by her parents and sister Ruthie Williams.
She leaves to cherish sweet memories her husband Charlie James (Bo) Griffin, children Ralph L. Griffin, Delores Griffin Bedgood, Michelle G. Griffin (Lamar), Rochelle Y. Griffin (Howard), Pamela D. Griffin and Corey D. Griffin (Carina), stepchildren Charlie Griffin, Jr., Penny (KB), Mary (Evan), Johnny and Linda Fay, grandchildren Fredrick O. Griffin (Veronica), Randy A. Griffin, III, Tiffinie N. Sweigart (Joe), Eric Griffin, Natasha D. Flowers, James B. Flowers, Ambria N. Bedgood, Jordynn O. Griffin and Camrynn Griffin, great-grandchildren Samiayah N. Toves, Mikayla M. Castillo, Avaria C. Toves and Azariah J. Flowers, brothers Freddie Owens (Kathy), Norman Owens (Renee) and Clarence Owens (Dora), sisters Doris Cathy (Johnny), Betty (Tanksley) and Shirley Lewis and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
