Agnes Barbara Janacek

On May 3, 1922 Agnes Barbara Pivonka (”MawMaw”) was born to Robert and Rosalie Pivonka near Caldwell, TX. She would be one of 13 children who toughed the Great Depression by working the family farm and subscribing to a relentless faith. In 1940, she married “the boy next door,” Adolph Janacek (deceased), a World War II veteran.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Cathey and husband Johnny of Shawnee, OK and Patsy Decker and husband Wayne of Hutto, TX, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and lived to meet and hold her two great-great granddaughters, achieving a goals she set for herself many decades ago. MawMaw began her eternal life on April 24, 2017.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 28, 2017 at St, Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
