Lela Agee Kaderka

Lela Agee Kaderka died Wednesday afternoon at her home in Taylor after a three year battle with cancer.

Lela Jean was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on July 24, 1960 to Harold and Margaret Wilson Agee. She attended Taylor and Thrall schools and graduated from Thrall High School in 1978. She practiced cosmetology for over 20 years after graduating from A&C College of Beauty, 11 years as the owner of “Looking Good Beauty Salon”.

After cosmetology, Lela pursued a second career as a veterinary technician with Dr. Arlon and Janet Graef. Lela’s warmth and compassion attracted clients from throughout central Texas. Her care and comforting words enriched the lives of many.

On February 14, 1997, she married Kelly Kaderka and shared over 20 loving years together. They enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining, traveling, Bar-B-Q cook-offs, opening their home to rescue animals, and family gatherings.

Lela is survived by her husband Kelly, parents Harold and Margaret Agee, daughter Roxie and husband Eric Carpenter, granddaughters Kaitlyn Johnson and Gracie Carpenter, sister Debbie and husband Billy Lovelady, brother Frank Agee and wife Dee Jay, niece Johanna Agee, nephews Lucas and Justin Agee and her very special friend Susie Mokry.

Lela was preceded in death by her father-in-law Darvin Kaderka.
Lela was known for her beautiful smile, her loving personality, and her love of animals. She was a ray of sunshine wherever she went and left a rainbow of colors in everyone’s eyes.

A Memorial Service will be held at Providence Funeral Home, Saturday, April 8th, at 2:00 PM. At Lela’s request, a celebration of her life will be held following the Memorial.
