Edmund Larry Tiemann

Edmund Larry Tiemann, 70, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017.

Larry was born July 27th, 1946, in Taylor, TX to Edmund Henry and Ruby Moerbe Tiemann. He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale where he was baptized and confirmed. He graduated from Thorndale High School in 1964. After graduation, he worked along with his father at Tiemann Garage. He joined the U.S. Army in 1965, and served until 1968, with a one year tour in Vietnam.

On September 13th, 1969, he married Betty Symank. They were blessed with three children, Sherri, Jason, and Sheila. He was employed with Alcoa for 33 ½ years before taking retirement. He was an active member of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department until his death, being chosen as Fireman of the Year on one occasion. He enjoyed barbeque cookoffs, rattlesnake handling, attending car races, deer hunting, and had a passion for Ford vehicles.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carole Heine, and his son Jason Tiemann.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, daughters Sherri Elliott and husband David and Sheila Frase and husband Ron. Also surviving are granddaughters Victoria Elliott, Emily and Jillian Frase, sister Barbara Rutledge and husband Homer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Heine, Karl Wuensche, Eric Melde, Jonathan Patschke, Scott Rutledge and Greg Heine.

Honorary pallbearers are Adolph Grieger, Jr., Curtis Krauser, Ronny Meinardus and the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation will be Friday, March 31st, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 1st, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, Texas with burial to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
