Lillie Suchomel Jansky

Lillie Suchomel Jansky, age 93, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home in Taylor, Texas. Lillie was born September 4, 1923 in Granger, Texas to Marie Navratil and Stanislav “Stan” Suchomel who had migrated from Czechoslovakia. Lillie attended school through the 7th grade at Alligator School, a one room school house east of Granger, Texas.

Lillie met John P. Jansky on January 7, 1946. John had just been discharged from the US Army two days earlier. The two were engaged on March 2, 1946 and married on June 18, 1946 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Texas. They made their home in the Noack area. Lillie worked on the family farm alongside her husband and retired from Taylor Bedding on September 9, 1988 after 9 years of employment. Her hobbies were quilting, embroidery and making homemade kolaches and noodles. Both Lillie and John were lifelong members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Taylor. Lillie was a member of St. Mary’s St. Anne’s Altar Society and KJZT.

She is preceded in death by her husband who passed away on their 50th wedding anniversary, June 18, 1996; parents, sister Mary Merka and brothers Tony Suchomel and Stanley Suchomel.

Lillie is survived by her children Johnnie Jansky and wife Janis, Daniel Jansky and wife Glenda, Richard Jansky and wife Garla and Mary Ann Zucknick and husband David all of Taylor, grandchildren Jason Jansky and wife Lisa of Hutto, Jeff Jansky and wife Keri of Taylor, Raelyn Jansky Parker and husband Josh of Marble Falls, Ryan Jansky of Pflugerville, Brian Jansky and wife Emily of Houston, Dr. Laurie Jansky of Temple, Paul Zucknick and wife Diana of Austin, and Mark Zucknick and fiancé Jessica Stafford of Pflugerville; great-grandchildren Riley and Reid Jansky of Hutto, Ty and Jake Jansky of Taylor, Chance Jansky of Pflugerville, Campbell Parker of Marble Falls and Leanne and Zack Parker of Marble Falls; sister-in-laws Libby Jansky of Temple, Ila Mae Jansky of Taylor and Eileen Jansky of Bryan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at SPJST Nursing Facility in Taylor for the love and care given to our mother while she was there, especially those in Hall #2. We also would thank Resolutions Hospice and Dr. Franklin Chang for the care and support you gave her and the family during this time.
