Alma Ruth Kirk

Alma “Ruth” Kirk, age 85, born in Castro County, Texas, passed peacefully at Seton Williamson County Hospital surrounded by family and Pastor Keith Jones.

Born April 30, 1931 to Enice Mae Mitchell and Charles Goebel Armstrong. Married Buford James Kirk in 1947, “B.J.” and Ruth maintained a loving working-marriage relationship and followed the housing boom from New Mexico into central Texas. Ruth was known for her baking and quilting skills but participated with “B.J.” with craft projects and love of gardening. Ruth also loved spending time with family playing table games.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband “B.J.” Kirk, and one sister and two brothers.

Ruth’s greatest joy in life was time spent with her large, extended family. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kirk and Rich Walters, son, Keith Kirk and wife Ann Kirk, granddaughter, Shelli O’Neal and fiancé Mark Robinson, grandson, Ben Kirk and wife Melissa Kirk, great grandchildren, Dusti Kirk, Taylor Kirk, Shelby Kirk and Mason O’Hara, and sister Fae Kingston, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, January 6, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service is 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Hutto City Cemetery.
