Margaret Ann Miller, age 71 passed away at her home in Taylor on Friday, November 25, 2016.

Margaret was born on May 22, 1945 to Albert Dietrich Goetz and Gertrude Rudolph Goetz in Taylor.

She graduated from Taylor High School in 1963. She worked in various offices in Austin, and then for 25 years at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, ending her career at the University of Texas

Margaret was an avid gardener. She not only planted trees, roses and numerous other flowers at her homes but also worked with Donald Wernli in planning and planting at St. Peter’s Church of Coupland and the Coupland Cemetery.
She loved history and travel. Her trips were well documented with special memories.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her brother Edward “Stick” Goetz and her nephew Clinton Goetz.

She is survived by her son, Jason Dee Miller of Corpus Christi, a sister, Elaine Blakeman of Georgetown, sister-in-law, Frances Goetz of Coupland and a nephew, Clayton Goetz of Cumby. She also leaves behind her long-time friend, Becky Sutton and her “Bunco Buds”, which she looked forward to seeing every month.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.

Funeral will be at St. Peter’s Church of Coupland, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday November 29, 2016, with her Pastor Martin Garrison officiating. Graveside services to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Sutton, Clayton Goetz, Bill Albert, Scott Ging, Danny Smith and Donald Wernli.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Peter’s Church of Coupland Cemetery fund. (Margaret proudly served on this committee for the past few years)
