Albert Lee Michalik

Albert Lee Michalik, 91, of Georgetown, returned to his heavenly home November 21, 2016 after a short period of declining health.

Albert was born to Anton and Emilie (Jansa) Michalik in Taylor on March 2, 1925. He was baptized and confirmed in the Taylor and Wall Brethren Churches respectively.

Albert was a 1942 graduate of San Angelo High School and later graduated from The University of Texas in 1950. Shortly thereafter, he entered Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary earning a Masters of Divinity degree in 1953. After marrying the love of his life Annie Maly in 1960, the couple embarked on a journey of serving Jesus Christ through pastorates in Ocker, West, Crosby, Pasadena, Nelsonville, Fayetteville, Industry, Wesley, Temple, Caldwell, New Tabor, Dime Box, College Station and Granger. “Brother Albert” loved the people he served during his 50+ years of active ministry, presiding over multitudes of baptisms, marriages, confirmations, revivals, vacation Bible schools, retreats, summer camps and Unity events. He enjoyed fishing for catfish and every wayward leaf, invading weed and wandering crepe myrtle branch trembled when Albert stepped into the backyard.

Albert is survived by his son Philip and his wife Carol of Houston; son Paul and his wife Melinda of Georgetown; grandchildren Nathan and Emily of Georgetown; sisters Esther Chasak, Georgia Simcik, and Noemi Drgac all of San Angelo, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Ruben, Edmond, and Dan and sisters Libbie and Angeline.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M., Friday, November 25, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Taylor Brethren Church. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
