Martha Barbara Jirasek

Martha Barbara Jirasek, age 88, returned home to her Savior Friday, November 11, 2016 in Taylor, Texas surrounded by family.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who lived for her family. She married Donald Jirasek on November 30, 1947, and the couple had 4 children together.
Martha was born on April 8, 1928 in Taylor, Texas to parents Edna (Wood) and Leon Kaiser. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Taylor, Texas. She retired from HEB after 15 years of employment and then spent time as a beloved substitute school teacher with Taylor ISD.

Martha was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in her church, Tenth Street United Methodist, for the majority of her life. She enjoyed shopping with her granddaughters and spending time with all her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind, caring, Christian woman.

Martha is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald Jirasek, her children, Kenneth Jirasek and wife Belinda of Taylor, James Jirasek of Taylor, and Judy Jirasek of Austin, as well as six grandchildren, Kendra Jirasek and spouse Ruben Cantu of Taylor, Kodie Kissel and husband Jesse of Hutto, DJ Jirasek and wife Megan of Taylor, Blake Jirasek and wife Kourtney of Taylor, Christina Jirasek of Taylor, and Valerie Lee and husband Garett of Marysville, CA, and five great grandchildren, Lauren & Madison Jirasek, Jace & Kinley Kissel and Kenzington Lee. Her siblings, Alvin Ezzell, Peggy Massey, and Joy Welsh.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edna (Wood) and Leon Kaiser, her son, Donald “Bubbie” Jirasek, and her brothers, Carl Kaiser and Gaylon Kaiser.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Kissel, Ruben Cantu, Garett Lee, D. J. Jirasek, Blake Jirasek, and Daniel Massey

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home from 6-8:00 P.M.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Dr. Travis Summerlin will officiate.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Martha’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tenth Street United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the caring staff of SPJST Nursing Home and Resolutions Hospice for the excellent and loving care that they provided.
