Willie Louis Cervenka, 96, of Granger passed away Monday, November 7th, 2016. He was born July 19th, 1920 to Agnes and Joseph Cervenka in Granger.

Willie attended school in Granger until he was old enough to join the US Army Air Corp, where he served for 3 years. When he returned home, he had several jobs. He farmed for 16 years and worked for his brother Joe for over 33 years at their gas station. He cooked with his wife, Lillian, at Plantation Bar and Grill and drove a school bus for SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Schools for 11 years. He worked for SS Cyril & Methodius Parish Hall from 1959-2005 as Head of Security.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and served as Grand Knight for 4 years, a member of American Legion for over 50 years and served as Post Commander.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, of over 70 years, parents Agnes and Joseph Cervenka, brothers Johnny, Joe and Emil and sisters Lillian, Mary and Angeline.

He is survived by his son Willie H. Cervenka of Granger, grandson Brian Cervenka and his wife Annie Marie, and great-grandchildren Alex, Adam and Grace all of Sugarland, TX, and sister-in-law Agnes Cervenka.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 10th, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Providence Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Celebration of Life Mass will be at 11:00 am on Friday, November 11th, 2016 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
