Willie Heselmeyer died on September 28, 2016. Willie was born November 17, 1914 near Taylor, Texas to Fritz and Alvina (Meiske) Heselmeyer. He was baptized and confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Wuthrich Hill and attended Turkey Creek School.
On November 2, 1938 he married Elda Zeplin. They were happily married seventy-seven years. Willie lived and farmed in the Taylor area all his life and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Elda Thonig and Minnie Stauffer, brother Andrew Heselmeyer, his son, David Heselmeyer, and great-grandson, Brock Seggern.
Willie is survived by his wife, Elda, son Kenneth and wife Rose Lee, daughter-in-law Patricia Jones, grandsons Scott Heselmeyer and wife Amanda and children Kirsten and Preston, Ken Allen Seggern and wife Coleen and son Jacob, and Clayton Seggern and wife Renea and children Coleman and Chelsea.
Visitation will be 5:00-6:30 P.M., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home.
Services will be officiated by Rev. Walter Miller at Providence Funeral Home on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Zeplin, Dennis Stauffer, Lee Heselmeyer, Charles Thonig, Ken Allen Seggern and Clayton Seggern.
Friends and family are invited to return to St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall following the interment for visiting and refreshment. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Taylor, or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend its most sincere gratitude to Mary and Ben Lefner, Sylvia Kaser, Cindy Scruggs, and Brooke Selby, who have all helped provide outstanding care and have brought great joy to Willie’s life in the past few years.
