Charles Edward Stover

Charles Edward Stover passed away on Sunday, September 18th, 2016.

He was born April 12th, 1927 in Oklahoma City, OK to H.W. and Evelyn Stover. Charles served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947. He returned home and attended Oklahoma City University and graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He married Jane Longino on February 29, 1953. Charles or “Charlie” moved his family from Houston to Taylor in 1969. He made a career move shortly thereafter and enjoyed a career in the Central Texas area as a real estate agent until his retirement. Charlie was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf at the Mustang Creek golf course. He made many friends and memories at the course and was known to give a lesson or two to anyone that asked. He was on the board of directors at Mustang Creek and won the Taylor City Championship in 1986. Charlie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.W. and Evelyn Boyd Stover, and his brother, George Stover.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane; son, Charles Stover, Jr. (Bo) and wife Deborah of Hutto; daughter, Ellen, and husband Charles of Magnolia; and daughter, Nancy, and husband Tony of Taylor. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Adam Stover and wife Lauren of Georgetown; Luke Stover and wife Mallory of Thrall; Lauren Repa of Houston; Michael Repa of Magnolia; and Nick and Abby Patschke of Taylor, and three great grandchildren, Layla and Sienna Stover of Georgetown and Luke Stover, Jr. (LJ) of Thrall.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
