Ralph Joe Boyd, Sr.

Ralph Joe Boyd, Sr. passed from this life on September 2, 2016 at Seton Main Hospital with his wife holding his hand. He was born in Lexington, KY, and raised in Temple, TX.

Joe was born January 7, 1970. He was the only child born to Joe Benjamin and Margaret (Combs) Boyd. He married his soul mate, Eliza (Phoenix) December 23, 1993. He attended Temple Schools and received his GED. He was a CNA, refrigeration technician, maintenance technician, and a plumber. Of all his jobs he was best known for plumbing, the job he enjoyed the most. Joe’s greatest joy was helping others.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, grandmother Audrey Alice Boyd, and aunt Barbara (Boyd) Coleman.

He’s survived by his wife of 22 years Eliza Boyd, his children Ralph Joe Boyd, Jr. and Alice Margo Boyd of Taylor, and Joshua Aaron Boyd of Texarkana, two grandchildren Harley and Harper of Texarkana, and first cousin Whit Coleman of Houston. He was an only child but he had a large extended family that loved him as well.

Funeral services for Joe will be Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary M.B.C of Taylor with Rev. T. Sorrells, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
